Gorilla Mowing

Henderson is the hub of West Auckland and its housing shows the area’s age — older three- and four-bedroom homes on full sections, mature trees and hedges, and a fair number of properties that back onto reserve gullies or climb the first slopes toward the Waitākere foothills. There’s a solid rental component through the flats and cross-lease blocks too.

Most of it is regular-plan work: a weekly or fortnightly mow that keeps a well-established lawn under control. The sloped and gully-edge sections are where a standard mow isn’t always straightforward, and that’s where local knowledge earns its place — we’ve run these streets long enough to know which jobs need a different approach.

Tell us the address — and flag if the section slopes or backs onto a gully — and we’ll factor that into the quote rather than the invoice.

Part of West Auckland

West Auckland is where overgrown-lawn-recovery jobs come up most — a section that's sat for a season on a slope needs a different approach to a flat weekly-mow lawn, and we treat it that way rather than forcing a standard job onto ground that isn't ready for one.

Questions about mowing in Henderson

Part of our section slopes down to a gully — is that a problem?

No. Plenty of Henderson properties back onto Opanuku or Twin Streams reserve land or sit on the first rise toward the ranges. We bring the right mower for the grade and keep the boundary and bank tidy without churning it up.

The lawn's badly overgrown — can you still take it on?

Yes. An overgrown Henderson section gets a recovery mow first, cut down over one or two passes so it isn't shocked, then it goes onto a normal cycle. Tell us roughly how long it's been and we'll plan for it in the quote.
